Event Conditions of Use

These terms and conditions govern your registration for, and attendance and participation at, an Infrastructure New Zealand (‘INZ’, ‘we’ or ‘us’):

  • conference, including the annual conference held by INZ in New Zealand (‘Conference’);
  • delegation led by INZ to an overseas destination (‘Delegation’);
  • any other event organised or promoted by INZ, whether paid entry or free of charge (‘Event’).

By registering for a INZ Event, Conference or Delegation, you agree to the following terms and conditions, and any other terms and conditions which may apply to the specific Event, Conference or Delegation.

Registration, Payment and Admission
Registration for most Events, Conferences and Delegations can be made through our websites. All tickets will have a closing date, by which the payment of any applicable fee(s) must be paid to guarantee registration. If any registrant does not pay by this date, the registration may lapse.

INZ reserves the right, without refund of any amount paid or compensation, to refuse admission to or eject an attendee from a Conference, Delegation or Event, in circumstances where INZ or the venue considers it has reasonable cause. This includes (without limitation) where tickets are lost or damaged, where you unreasonably interfere with the enjoyment of other attendees of the Event, Conference or Delegation, and where you do not comply with these terms and conditions.

Cancellation by INZ
INZ reserves the right to change the date, time, venue, content or speakers of, or cancel, any Event, Conference or Delegation. In the event of a cancellation your full compensation, and INZ’s full liability to you, is a full refund of amounts paid to INZ for such cancelled Event, Conference or Delegation. In the event of a postponement or alteration to the Event, Conference or Delegation, a refund or credit will be discussed on a case by case basis.

Cancellation by You
If you wish to cancel your attendance to an Event, Conference or Delegation you must make a cancellation request in the format and to the contact described in our materials specific to such Event, Conference or Delegation.  If not such format/contact is specified for this purpose please make your cancellation request to INZ at office@infrastructure.org.nz.

Unless otherwise set out in the specific terms and conditions which may apply to the specific Event, Conference or Delegation (which specific terms will prevail to the extent of any inconsistency), if you:

  • Cancel your attendance to a Delegation, No refunds will be given except at the absolute discretion of INZ, including if a participant fails to attend.
  • Cancel your accommodation, travel, dining events or other items organised through INZ relating to the attendance at a Conference, Delegation or Event, such amounts will only be refunded to the extent INZ is able to obtain a corresponding refund from its third party suppliers of such items.


Transfers
If you are unable to attend an Event, Conference or Delegation, your entry ticket may be transferred to another person within your organisation [at the sole discretion of INZ]. To transfer your ticket please do so in the format and to the contact described in our materials specific to such Event, Conference or Delegation.  If not such format/contact is specified for this purpose please make your transfer request to INZ at office@infrastructure.org.nz.

Included and Excluded items
Except as expressly set out by INZ in relation to the specific Event or Conference, the attendance fee is only for entry to such event or conference and does not include any travel, accommodation, food or associated ancillary items or expenses.

Delegation attendees are responsible for all expenses associated with their attendance other than the items expressly identified by INZ as included in the fee.  Such responsibility of the attendee includes spending money, transport, accommodation, meals, drinks, laundry charges, incidentals, taxes, passports, visas, vaccinations, gratuities, services charges, insurance and all other ancillary costs. Appropriate insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Delegation attendees must obtain all necessary travel documentation including visas and a valid passport with an expiry date sufficiently far into the future, and is responsible for all costs incurred in obtaining such documentation.

If a Delegation attendee chooses to arrive prior to the official dates of the Delegation or to remain after the Delegation, he or she is responsible for any and all additional expenses incurred in doing so.

Privacy policy and personal information:
Information we collect in connection with our Events, Conferences or Delegations may include your personal information. By attending an Event, Conference or Delegation, you acknowledge and agree to our General Privacy Policy.

Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in our Events, Conferences or Delegations, the content and all materials distributed at or in connection with our Events, Conferences or Delegations, are owned by INZ and/or the Event sponsors or speakers.  You may not use any of this intellectual property without our consent. This includes but is not limited to copying, modifying, reproducing, posting, framing, displaying, redistributing, uploading to a third party, downloading, republishing or transmitting in any capacity whether electronic, hardcopy or otherwise.

Photography and Filming
Photographs, video recordings, and any other type of recordings taken during an Event, Conference or Delegation, by INZ or on behalf of INZ, may include an attendee’s image, name, voice or statement. By attending and/or participating in an Event, Conference or Delegation, you grant INZ the rights to use your image, name, voice or statements for our reasonable business purposes, without compensation or credit in any and all media.

Speakers
The views expressed by speakers and presenters at our Events, Conferences or Delegations are their own. INZ does not accept any liability for advice given, views expressed or in any material provided to attendees, by any speaker at any Event, Conference or Delegation.

Websites
When you purchase tickets or register for our Events, Conferences or Delegations through our website, you agree to be bound by our Website General Terms and Conditions of Use.

Exclusion of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude:

a      all warranties and representations in relation to the Events, Conferences or Delegations, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise and we will not be responsible for any errors or misstatements.
b      all liability in relation to Events, Conferences or Delegations whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, for any loss or damage however caused (including direct, indirect, consequential or special loss or damage, or loss of profits, loss of data, loss of savings and loss of opportunity).

Change to terms and conditions
We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time (including by notifying registered attendees of an Event, Conference or Delegation of the amended terms and conditions).

No Relationship
These terms and conditions will not be deemed to create a partnership, joint venture, agency or employment relationship of any kind between us and you.

General
If at any time we do not enforce any of these terms or conditions or grant you time or other indulgence, we will not be construed as having waived that term or condition or our rights to later enforce that or any other term or condition. Further, if any part or provision of these terms and conditions is deemed to be invalid, unenforceable or in conflict with the law, that part or provision is replaced with a provision which, as far as possible, accomplishes the original purpose of that part of provision. The remaining terms and conditions will be binding on the parties.

Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of New Zealand.
