The Women's Infrastructure Network Waikato in partnership with Infrastructure New Zealand is delighted to invite you to join us for a site visit to Waikeria Prison Development.
Ara Poutama Aotearoa, the Department of Corrections, is developing a new prison with dedicated mental health and addiction services at Waikeria Prison. The facilities will provide a safe, secure, and respectful environment for staff, prisoners, and their whānau. The development represents a significant investment in strengthening mental health services and providing more rehabilitation, education and training space and opportunities for people in prison.
The project is being delivered under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) and is the largest vertical construction site in New Zealand at the moment. The site has a number of unique construction elements and working conditions which the team will briefly talk to, together with showcasing the various roles a range of professional women are undertaking on this interesting project. We will conclude with a tour of the construction site inside the perimeter wall.
Refreshments and transport will be provided with thanks to event sponsors Boffa Miskell and Cornerstone Infrastructure Partners.
All attendees must travel to the site on the bus provided. Private transport to the site is not permitted.
