Infrastructure New Zealand invites you to a workshop session with the Productivity Commission on 19 February 2019, from 3:00pm to consider and discuss alternative funding and financing solutions for local government infrastructure.

The New Zealand Government has asked the Commission to investigate local government funding and financing to better understand cost pressures, decision making and affordability challenges.

The Commission is expected to report back on these issues along with recommendations in November 2019. It has released an issues report (available here) and is seeking the views of the infrastructure industry on options.

While public feedback on the Commission’s initial report closes on 15 February, the Commission will extend the closing date to 28 February for Infrastructure NZ members. This will allow submissions to incorporate discussion from the workshop.

We look forward to your engagement on this opportunity. Attendance is strictly on an invite-only basis.
